My Beliefs

Donny Osmond

“As I’ve traveled all over the world, the fact that I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has caused a lot of interesting questions. I’ve received so many letters and e-mails asking things like, What are the basic beliefs of Latter-day Saints?”

My Testimony

…Some want to know how Debbie and I have been able to maintain a strong marriage — over all these years — while living in the world of show business. Others want to know how we dealt with the challenges of raising a close and happy family in such difficult times.

How do we maintain a balance between work, and family life? Well, you know it’s not always easy, but the following pages are my attempt to explain a way of life that helps answer these kinds of questions. It gives me stability in a world, and in a business, that can be uncertain, compromising, and stressful. It’s the pattern that gives me direction in my life. And, I hope that this information will help answer some of your questions.

  • Warren Jeffs

Hi Donny,  I wanted to thank you for taking this message and honestly answering my question  as best as you are able to.  I have done some studying and have certain questions that I can not answer on my own I try and try to make sense of these things.   Warren Jeffs did a whole lot of bad things,  marrying others wives and sleeping with underage girls, plus false prophecies. How can someone do the same things and become a prophet and the other do the same things and go to jail? Is it because Joseph Smith lived in the 1800s and Warren Jeffs  lives now and we are able to spit a scam artist?  Warren’s people didn’t have enough time to spin the story.
    Thank you for your time,

  • Joseph Smith’s Polygamy

    Hello Donny,

I read just now someone’s question about Joseph and polygamy. You didn’t quite answer the question honestly or if you did then you answered in naivete, because you alluded that it was mainly Brigham Young that lived polygamy and that Joseph was only commanded to live it. Are you not aware of the Gospel Topics Essay’s on
I thought I’d share it with you so you would respond in a more accurate way.
Years ago I stumbled across a website listing Joseph’s wives and it threw me into a major faith crisis. Practically robbed me of almost 10 years of angst and torture as to if I believe the cojcolds is still true. I’m still semi-active only because I help a young man in Primary and then Young Men’s because he suffers from a neurological brain disorder. My ward’s bishopric were pretty attuned to what would get me to come to church I guess.
But I know you’re a busy person and I won’t bore you with the rest, it’s still going, but won’t get into it. The following is a link to the website and be sure to click on Nauvoo polygamy or the beginings of plural marriage to get the rest of the story. It is vital that people are aware and not blindsided like myself. The church leaders have recently asked CES leaders to make sure to go over these essays in order to answer questions openly and honestly. I will provide the second link about the early church’s practice of polygamy.
I apologize if this has already come to your attention. Take care!

  • Joseph Smith

Why do you believe Joseph Smith lied about practicing polygamy? How do you think polyandry fits into D&C 132:61? I’m a church investigator and I’m really stuck on these issue. Please help me.

  • Finding myself deeply moved

I am not a Mormon, but I am seeking and searching.  I’m a married woman and mother of two with one little grandson.  I’m from the UK but live in Los Angeles.   I would sincerely be grateful for some guidance with a view to conversion.

  • Question

What did Joseph Smith mean when he said, “If I should reveal the things that God has revealed to me, there are some on this stand that would cut my throat or take my heart’s blood”?
What did Joseph Smith know that would have got him killed by his brethren? “Brethren, if I were to tell you all I know of the kingdom of God, I do know that you would rise up and kill me.”

What revelations could the Latter-Day Saints not bear? “If I was to show the Latter Day Saints all the revelations that the Lord has shown unto me, there is scarce a man that would stay with me, they could not bear it.”

Who was Joseph and what did he know that would have caused his brethren to take his life? ““Would to God, brethren, I could tell you WHO I am! Would to God I could tell you WHAT I know! But you would call it blasphemy and want to take my life!”

  • Joseph Smith, peep stones, hat and scrying.

With the Mormon church’s recent  disclosure  that Joseph Smith used peep stones in his  treasure hunting searching, and other such scrying activities, doesn’t that prove he was a false prophet?

  • Who was Joseph Smith?

I live in and right near the famous grove.  I don’t understand how Joseph Smith can be believed.  If you check history his friends and neighbors in multiple places stated how he was not a truthful person and a con man.
