My Beliefs
“As I’ve traveled all over the world, the fact that I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has caused a lot of interesting questions. I’ve received so many letters and e-mails asking things like, What are the basic beliefs of Latter-Day Saints?”
My Testimony
…Some want to know how Debbie and I have been able to maintain a strong marriage — over all these years — while living in the world of show business. Others want to know how we dealt with the challenges of raising a close and happy family in such difficult times.
How do we maintain a balance between work, and family life? Well, you know it’s not always easy, but the following pages are my attempt to explain a way of life that helps answer these kinds of questions. It gives me stability in a world, and in a business, that can be uncertain, compromising, and stressful. It’s the pattern that gives me direction in my life. And, I hope that this information will help answer some of your questions.

Do I Serve a Mission?
I am a member of the church and still have a few years before I can go [on a mission]. I’m not sure if the Lord feels that I need to go. But then again, I feel as though I need to devote my time to academics. But how do I choose between what I feel I need to do? And what Heavenly Father wants me to do?

I wish to become Mormon, but I am not sure how. It’s not like I can just walk in a church and ask to join.

Do Missionaries Work in Correctional Facilities?
As part of my walk of faith, I go into the New York City jails with a ministry group to conduct Protestant services. I’m curious to know if there are Mormon missionaries who do the same thing.

I think i believe the church is true, but i always have a doubt, and end up questioning something and being unsure. I know that i feel good when i am with the sisters, and feel real love and joy… i cant decide if it is coming from god, or if it is in my mind.

Helping a Friend Decide on Baptism
I have a friend that has been taught by the missionaries for about a year, I know he has felt the spirit because he has told me. He seems to be very strong minded and the missionaries and I have quoted many different scriptures to him and he still seems unsure.

A Healing…
I was plagued with a back complaint which virtually grounded me for weeks and sometimes months on end. …my neighbors asked if they could ‘lay hands on’. From then until now, my complaint has got no worse. Some may think that a funny statement. My doctor has said to me that he can’t understand how I still walk about, because he was sure that by now I should be in a wheelchair. Some may say coincidence. I say thank you to the church of LDS for their faith and their friendship.
