My Beliefs
“As I’ve traveled all over the world, the fact that I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has caused a lot of interesting questions. I’ve received so many letters and e-mails asking things like, What are the basic beliefs of Latter-Day Saints?”
My Testimony
…Some want to know how Debbie and I have been able to maintain a strong marriage — over all these years — while living in the world of show business. Others want to know how we dealt with the challenges of raising a close and happy family in such difficult times.
How do we maintain a balance between work, and family life? Well, you know it’s not always easy, but the following pages are my attempt to explain a way of life that helps answer these kinds of questions. It gives me stability in a world, and in a business, that can be uncertain, compromising, and stressful. It’s the pattern that gives me direction in my life. And, I hope that this information will help answer some of your questions.

Baptism for the Dead? Biblical?
I wonder how the church basis it’s baptism for those who have passed away as biblical… Once the person has died, they proceed to judgment or heavens gates to see if their name is in the book of life. Baptizing them after death, in my eye’s, doesn’t really serve any purpose.

Struck by the Sense of The Book of Mormon
I’m a 37 year old man that’s been an evangelical Christian for over 23 years. As I’ve read the book of Mormon and the testimony of the early Latter Day Saints leaders and founder, I’m struck by the sense of it. This is so completely the opposite of what I’ve been taught about the Mormon faith.

I was wondering if a person who was once Catholic, wanted to come into the LDS church, would their Catholic baptism be recognized by the church or would they have to be baptized in the LDS church. Thanks so much for taking the time answer this.

Baptism for the Dead
How do you baptise the dead that is bogus in the belief.
Christians belief that baptism still takes place here in churches all over. That is living bodies not dead. I don’t understand that belief on the dead. It doesn’t make sense and serves no purpose at all.

LDS Belief on Baptism
Jesus gave a commandment to the apostles to baptize everyone in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38. Is this how LDS teaches to be baptized?
