“As I’ve traveled all over the world, the fact that I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has caused a lot of interesting questions. I’ve received so many letters and e-mails asking things like, What are the basic beliefs of Latter-day Saints?”

My Testimony

Listen

…Some want to know how Debbie and I have been able to maintain a strong marriage — over all these years — while living in the world of show business. Others want to know how we dealt with the challenges of raising a close and happy family in such difficult times.

How do we maintain a balance between work, and family life? Well, you know it’s not always easy, but the following pages are my attempt to explain a way of life that helps answer these kinds of questions. It gives me stability in a world, and in a business, that can be uncertain, compromising, and stressful. It’s the pattern that gives me direction in my life. And, I hope that this information will help answer some of your questions.

  • Thank you!!!

    Donny,
I sincerely would like to thank you and your beautiful wife, for sharing the testimony which you have spent your life time developing and committed to.  I am an active member of the LDS faith, my testimony was challenged in high school, I served as a missionary in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania mission, I continue to enjoy the beautiful gift of free agency, and the blessings that come from living such a loving doctrine. The gospel gives me strength, protection, and inspiration.  Everyone of life’s challenges only brings me closer to that truth.
There are so many who are currently struggling with the faith, I respect them whether they maintain activity in the church or not, I know how difficult it can be with the pressures of life & the world we exist in.   I know that our loving Heavenly Father continues to love each and everyone of us despite any of those challenges, just as earthly parents we love each of our children despite their choices and their progression.  Opposition is a beautiful gift, and allows us to fully comprehend the love we have always existed in.  The gifts of the Atonement are endless!  Accountability  dispels any illusion of “control” others may say the church forces upon others.
Thank you again, for being a strong inspiring example to so many who have questions or doubt.  A light in the world you are!

For you, your wife and family I pray blessings of love and gratitude!   May we all continue to unite, as the beautiful spirit family we are, & rejoice in this powerful earth life experience of creation!!
    Sincerely,
    A sister in the Gospel,
    Sister Bailey

    Dear Sister Bailey,
Thank you for your generous comments and for your inspiring thoughts.  I agree with you about the blessing of freedom of choice.  It does open up the most important response to that agency and that is obedience.  It hurts me that many seem to be choosing to ignore the importance of continually seeking and being worthy to have the Holy Ghost directing their lives and thus their convictions and actions begin to waver.  It sounds like you are founded upon the rock.  Good on you!
